To achieve its mission, the IPEA Study Centre actively collaborates with various Indigenous and Inuit partners in an approach based on trust and the self-determination of First Nations and Inuit.

First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission (FNQLEDC)

In conjunction with all stakeholders in the sector and inspired by respect for the culture and local autonomy of the communities, the FNQLEDC’s mission is to represent, promote, support and defend the interest of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador in the area of socioeconomic development and thus contribute to their well-being and success.

Makivvik Corporation

Makivvik’s distinct mandate ranges from owning large profitable business enterprises and generating jobs; to social economic development, improved housing conditions, to protection of the Inuit language and culture and the natural environment.

Throughout its history Makivvik has spoken on behalf of the Inuit of Nunavik in order to uphold the constitutionally protected rights of all Nunavimmiut.

Kativik Regional Government (KRG)

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) was created in 1978 pursuant to the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement to deliver public services to Nunavimmiut. Many of the KRG’s responsibilities are stipulated in the Act respecting Northern Villages and the Kativik Regional Government (Kativik Act). Other mandates have been delegated to the KRG by the region’s municipalities and the Québec government.

Secrétariat aux relations avec les Premières Nations et les Inuit

The Secrétariat aux relations avec les Premières Nations et les Inuit is entrusted with the prime responsibility of maintaining ties between Indigenous peoples and the Gouvernement du Québec. It works with the First Nations and Inuit to facilitate their access to the various government programs and, in some cases, to adapt government activities to their needs.


La Chaire-réseau Jeunesse (CRJ)

The Youth Network Chair (Chaire-réseau Jeunesse or CRJ) “Pathways Toward Youth Autonomy and Fulfilment in a Transforming Society” project brings together the driving forces behind youth research and youth intervention in order to support the implementation of the 2030 Québec Youth Policy: 125 researchers, 14 centres, 7 partnerships, 19 research chairs, 52 social and government partners and youth collectives have come together to develop studies and practices based on the interdependence of youth needs, pathways, spheres of life, support resources and living situations. 


Native Commercial Credit Corporation (SOCCA)

SOCCA offers financing products and services in the form of non-refundable contributions, term loans and coaching to start, acquire or expand Aboriginal businesses.

Its mission is to be a strategic partner that offers financial services and advice adapted to the needs of our Aboriginal clients in the commercial sector.


Ashukan Institute

The Ashukan Institute is a consulting firm offering training, research and strategic consulting services on Indigenous realities, to support organizations in their relations with Indigenous Peoples.


Institut nordique du Québec (INQ)


INQ‘s vision reflects its partners’ desire and determination to develop a sustainable North based on a foundation of knowledge. To integrate scientific knowledge with that of local communities, including Indigenous knowledge, and partner with the public and private sectors to develop the Canadian Arctic and Northern Quebec for future generations, providing clean energy, healthy ecosystems, viable infrastructures, economic prosperity, vibrant cultures, and adapted education and healthcare systems.


Fédération des coopératives du Nouveau-Québec (FCNQ)

The mission of the Fédération des coopératives du Nouveau-Québec (FCNQ) is to promote the development of its members through their involvement in sustainable social and economic activities. As such, the FCNQ supports the development efforts of its member cooperatives.

The IPEA Study Centre also counts Nunavik Investment Corporation (NIC) and Carrefour Entrepreneurial à Impact among its partners.
